Videos
Short tutorial videos show how the main parts of FSMCore work. Open one from the play icon beside a page heading, or from a video card on these help pages.
The video button
In the office, the crew app and the books, a page that has a video shows a play icon in the row of small grey icons beside its heading: after the question mark (help) and the chat bubble (help chat). Its tooltip says Watch a video about this page.
Press it and the video window opens. The video starts at once. If your browser waits for a click first, press the play button in the video.
The window shows the video about the part of the page you are on. A page without a video has no play icon.
The video window
- The video has its own controls: play and pause, the time bar, sound, full screen and CC (captions).
- Chapters under the video lists the parts of the video with their start time. Press one to jump to that part.
- More videos for this page lists the other videos about the same subject. Press one to play it instead.
- The close button (top right), the Escape key or a click outside the window closes it and stops the video.
On a phone the window uses the whole width of the screen.
Captions and chapters
Every video has English captions. They are off when a video starts: press CC in the video's controls to turn them on, and again to turn them off.
Chapters are listed under the video when it has more than one part. You can also move along the time bar of the video yourself.
On the help pages
On a help page, a video card sits under the heading of the section the video starts with. The card shows a picture from the video, its length and its title. Press the card to open the same video window.
From FSMCore's own server
The videos play from FSMCore's own server, from the same address as the page you are on. No YouTube or other outside site is used, and no cookie is set for them.
Nothing of a video is downloaded until you press the play icon or a video card. A video is downloaded as it plays, so you can jump to any point without waiting for the whole file.
